Headshot of Jeff Watkins

My wife and I remodeled and added an addition to our home. Starting with my dad’s design plans, we pounded every nail and did almost everything ourselves. I find physical labor is a relaxing break from sitting in an office.

Experience

As a partner in our wealth management practice, I help my clients build, preserve, and maximize their wealth. Serving as a personal CFO to individuals, families, and family offices, I provide comprehensive solutions which consider the numerous aspects of wealth accumulation, as well as its effects on business and family. I have expertise in individual income taxation, estate planning, family office services, personal financial planning, family and closely held business succession planning, and family financial counseling. My clients are predominantly high-net-worth individuals, most of whom are business owners, entrepreneurs, and families.

I want my clients to know I’m in this for the long term. My goal is to develop 20-year relationships and make a meaningful and positive impact on their personal and family’s financial needs. One way I try to do this is by being direct — my clients respect that I’m not afraid to have tough conversations.

I’ve been with the firm for more than 20 years, and my proudest professional accomplishments center around three things: helping numerous young professionals develop in their careers, building meaningful relationships with great clients, and growing the wealth management practice throughout the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.

For multiple years, 5280 Magazine has recognized our team as the Best Wealth Manager in this region for CPAs. I belong to the AICPA and the Colorado Society of CPAs. I’m very active in my community and my affiliations include the Denver Estate Planning Council, past president and current board member; Anchor Center for Blind Children, past board President; Children’s Hospital Foundation, past advisory board member; and the CU Foundation, past advisory board member. I received my B.S. in accounting from Drake University and my J.D. from Georgia State University.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf and spending time with my wife and our five children.
