I come from a large, highly productive family, including 10 siblings and 40 nieces and nephews. This explains why being productive in a diverse and sometimes chaotic team environment comes naturally to me — as does eating quickly.

Experience

As the firm’s energy industry group leader, I advise public companies and private equity-backed businesses primarily in the natural resources sector. In the first year of my professional life, my firm loaned me to the owner of an energy company who had just relocated to Denver. I helped him in every area of his business, which launched my love for this industry. My experience includes partnership transaction structuring, private equity, buy- and sell-side mergers and acquisitions, and ASC 740. With more than 25 years of experience, my peers consider me an expert in oil and gas and mining taxation.

My clients appreciate that I care deeply about them, and they rely on me for my deep industry knowledge, which translates into creative and responsive service. This relationship building is a cornerstone of our client service — and it’s what has helped us build a highly respected energy practice.

I’m often asked to speak at AICPA national oil and gas conferences, Colorado Society of CPAs industry meetings, and to clients and their boards on current topics affecting the energy industry. I’ve been recognized repeatedly by the American City Business Journal in Denver as a Colorado “Top Women in Energy” and a Colorado “Who’s Who in Energy.” I’ve also been recognized by the AICPA as a “Woman to Watch.”

I belong to the AICPA, the Colorado Society of CPAs, and the Council of Petroleum Accountant Societies. Additionally, I sit on the boards of ACE and Colorado Uplift. I earned my B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Iowa and my M. Tax from the University of Denver’s College of Law.

In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, golfing, gardening and, most importantly, relaxing with friends and family.
