DENVER, CO—November 19, 2007—Ehrhardt Keefe Steiner & Hottman (EKS&H) PC, the largest Colorado-based accounting and business advisory firm, with offices in Denver, Fort Collins and Boulder, announced the appointment of Gaylen Hansen to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Advisory Committee on the Auditing Profession, by Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. Gaylen’s experience spans over 30 years and an extensive background in SEC accounting and reporting matters. He serves as Director of Accounting and Auditing Quality Assurance at EKS&H and is a member of the Colorado State Board of Accountancy.
Gaylen Hansen’s appointment to the Committee was a request of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) and he will represent state boards and NASBA. The Committee will examine auditing industry concentration, financial soundness, audit quality, employee recruitment and retention, in addition to other topics. The Committee is made up of a broad range of perspectives, including investors, auditors, large and small public companies, insurance companies, lawyers and regulators.
Gaylen was also recently reappointed to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Standing Advisory Group.
